A Message from the Principal
Welcome to Mason City High School!
It is my honor and privilege to serve as the principal of MCHS, a role I’ve proudly held since 2013. My journey in education began in 2001 as a high school social studies teacher right here at MCHS. Those eight years in the classroom shaped my appreciation for the impact great schools can have on students’ lives.
I am also a proud member of this community – not just an educator, but as a parent. My wife and I are raising two children who have both benefited from the outstanding educational experiences offered by Mason City Schools. As a parent and principal, I see firsthand the dedication, care and opportunities that define our school.
At MCHS, we are committed to creating an environment where every student can be engaged, grow in who they are, and be ready for whatever comes next – whether that be college, career, or other future paths. Our school offers a wide variety of academic programs and extracurricular opportunities that allow students to explore their passions, challenge themselves, and build lasting connections.
What truly sets MCHS apart is our strong and supportive culture and climate. We believe in the power of community, and we are fortunate to have meaningful partnerships that bring authentic, real-world learning experiences to our students. These relationships, along with exceptional staff, student body, and supportive families make MCHS a dynamic place to learn and lead.
